Community Overview
The Community Overview tab offers a detailed snapshot of what the community is about, who it’s for, and how members can participate. It typically contains a written description, associated tags, and privacy/posting settings.
Viewing the Overview
When visiting a community page:
Click the "Overview" tab in the navigation bar.
You’ll see:
The full description of the community.
Tags representing the community's topics or focus areas (e.g., 3D printing).
An edit icon if you have permission to modify the content.
Editing the Community Overview
Admins and owners can update the overview to keep the information current.
Click the edit icon in the upper right of the Overview box.
The following fields will be available for editing:
Name: The title of your community (required).
Description: You can write and format the community description, including headings, bullet points, links, images, embedded videos, file attachments, and resource links.
Community is private: Toggle this on to restrict content visibility to members only.
Community auto join: When enabled, users can join the community immediately without approval.
Posts auto approve: Allow members to create posts without requiring moderator/admin review.
Community tags: Assign one or more tags to describe your community’s topics or focus (e.g., "3D printing").
Click "Save" to apply your updates.
Important Notes
Tags help organize and improve the discoverability of your community.
Only users with the owner or admin role can edit the overview.
